ApplyKart, founded by Bharati Babbar in 2023, is an innovative app that aims to help job seekers find work in as little as two hours. Originally founded in Australia and recently launched in India, ApplyKart, positioned as a digital sanctuary, is designed to provide guidance to individuals entering the job market.
Whether individuals are starting their careers, growing as experienced professionals, or experiencing challenges as immigrants dealing with language barriers and complex application procedures, ApplyKart offers a simple, user-friendly solution that is customised to meet their job search requirements.
Despite having extensive employment experience, ApplyKart founder Bharati encountered many challenges eight years ago when she moved to Australia and began her job search.
Motivated by her own challenges during her job search, Bharati is dedicated to assisting those facing similar hardships, particularly those from Generation Z. Bharati identified a market need, with Generation Z accounting for more than 30% of the population in 2024.
“I aim to support others in comparable situations, particularly Generation Z, which will form 58% of the workforce by 2030” Bharati said.
The app serves as a networking hub and caters specifically to Generation Z, understanding and addressing their unique concerns and objectives. Bharati has ensured ApplyKart does more than just network; it also provides a variety of services tailored at increasing a candidate’s employability.
“ApplyKart provides a full toolkit for job seekers, from strengthening interview skills to creating flawless resumes and cover letters” she said.
“What distinguishes ApplyKart is its unique approach: whereas other platforms may charge up to $300 for job advertisements, ApplyKart provides free job listings. My vision is to ensure inclusion for all businesses, from small start-ups to large corporations”.
By providing a wide database of various employment opportunities all under one roof and allowing for direct connections that streamline the hiring process ApplyKart has reduced the stress of finding a job.
“It is more than just another job-searching social media platform; it’s an active network that attracts both job seekers and students with its exciting and informative content” she said.
ApplyKart’s launch offers a timely remedy, as a startling 91% of Generation Z respondents stated in a survey by Dell that they believed technology would have a major impact on their work decisions. The app is growing in popularity not just on the app store but also on social
media platforms like Instagram and Tik Tok, where it posts funny videos keeping up with current trends or more educational videos on how to answer challenging interview questions, each gaining thousands of views. Bharati is excited with the app’s progress.
“We’ve already reached 30,000 daily active users, and there are over 5,000 job postings circulating around the app. Our social media campaign is also gaining traction, which helps us increase the app’s reach even further”.
Bharati has high expectations for ApplyKart, in the future she wants to take the company worldwide. Bharati envisions a time where finding work will be simple for everyone, regardless of where they may be within the world.
With a close eye on developing nations like India, ApplyKart is well-positioned to disrupt and transform the global job market. To advance the development and promotion of ApplyKart, Bharati is planning to visit the USA in April, a significant employment market for Generation Z.
ApplyKart aims to become the ‘go-to site’ for both job searchers and businesses dealing with labour shortages, aiming to simplify the job search process in the current competitive Generation Z job market.
