According to Dr. Isabelle Meyer, Executive Director of DTA companies have cyber security and risk management plans, a dementia strategy should be an essential part of business continuity planning.

“We’re no longer just talking about healthcare. This is a reality for everything we do within our community.”

Meyer says that Australian businesses and local councils lag behind their European counterparts in creating dementia-friendly communities.

She also outlined that such plans should include training for staff to respond to challenging situations, environmental modifications like contrasting seat colours, and building designs that facilitate comfortable ageing at home.

“It’s about proactive, cost-effective measures that can significantly improve the quality of life for those with dementia. With small changes, we can help people live comfortably at home and reduce the need for early institutionalisation.” said Meyer

To support the initiative, DTA provides a variety of training programs tailored to different sectors. These programs aim to equip organisations with a comprehensive understanding of dementia, insights into the experiences of individuals living with the condition, and guidance on how to offer appropriate support.

Training options include the Volunteers’ Course, First Responders Training, Meaningful Spaces (a VR course), and sessions focused on Changed Behaviors. Additionally, DTA integrates the Government’s new Environment Design Principles and Guidelines into its curriculum.

A new form of lottery entertainment has arrived in Australia. 4D Lotto is the first fixed payout lottery game in Australia launched in July 2024.

Similar to fixed payout games that are popular throughout Southeast Asia, 4D Lotto has developed a unique software specifically for the Australian market.

The young entrepreneurial start-up behind 4D Lotto intend on taking a very different slice of the Australian lottery market.

Appealing to Australia’s multicultural heartland, 4D Lotto’s fixed payout games are launching. With draws running every 5 minutes every day, there are plenty opportunities to get involved.

Within the highly competitive $7.091 billion total lottery turnover in Australia, their aim is to gain 150,000 players in the first quarter following launch. The visionary team behind the 4D Lotto App are excited to launch a product that is not in Australia.

Howard Sim, 4D Lotto Communications Manager says 4D Lotto is licensed by the Northern Territory government.

“The fact that we have a licence shows there is incredible confidence in us and and we are enormously excited to be launching into the market.” said Sim

4D Lotto is available to download through the Apple or Android app and is simple and easy to use. Games that are immediately available include 2D, 3D, 4D Classic, and 5D.

Blackline Safety Corp. (TSX: BLN), a global leader in connected safety technology, has announced a new deal valued at $1.4 million with a water utility provider based in Australia.

After commissioning a third-party analysis that named Blackline Safety devices the best lone worker solution on the global market, the corporation selected Blackline and their Australian Channel Partner to provide Blackline’s lone worker safety app, Loner Mobile, and G7c cloud-connected devices. T

The award-winning wearable G7c—with features such as SOS latch, fall and no motion detection, and real-time connectivity—provides a critical lifeline in case of emergency.

This is the latest in a series of deals Blackline Safety has announced with water utility providers in recent years. Blackline Safety devices currently protect half of the water and wastewater companies in the United Kingdom.

“Our devices are particularly well suited to the utility industry, including water and wastewater,” said Blackline Safety Vice President of International Sales, Peter Attalla. “People in these fields are at elevated risk when they go to work.”

Utility industry workers face multiple hazards on the job such as gas exposures, confined spaces, potential falls, adverse weather, customer confrontations, and working alone in areas with limited cellular coverage.

“More and more utility companies around the world are opting for Blackline devices because they want the best to protect their people,”

The National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) has launched an innovative offering to help Gen Z employees become as confident with their offline personas, as they are online.

Called Prologue by NIDA and developed by NIDA’s Corporate Training team, which has been training business leaders for more than 30 years, the course is specifically designed to help Gen Z acquire the skills to feel more confident in face-to-face and ‘traditional’ workplace settings.

2023 US study revealed that 90% of Gen Z employees experience social discomfort or anxiety at work, with ‘being called on in meetings’ and ‘giving presentations’ in their top five reasons as to why they feel anxious.

Leading Gen Z expert and social researcher, Claire Madden, says the situation is just as pressing in Australia – especially as more and more employers call on a return to the office, which may create socially awkward and anxiety-inducing moments for many workers, particularly those of Gen Z.

“The way we work is being redefined for Gen Z, as they emerge into their career years amidst seismic global shifts and rapid disruption,” says Claire.

“Gen Z bring unique strengths into the multigenerational workplace. They are informed consumers, willing contributors, and digitally capable. Yet whilst they are tech-savvy and confident at curating their virtual identities, there can be a confidence gap when it comes to interpersonal skills and communicating face-to-face with clients and colleagues.

“Gen Z has been starved of the multiple opportunities to foster these skills in the way their older colleagues have.

Through integration with the university’s existing online ordering and cashless payments partner, My School Connect, 1000+ students will now be able to place requests for late lunches and late dinners through the My School Connect app.

This year, students residing in fully-catered residential communities on-campus at UNSW Sydney will experience enhanced dining options amidst their demanding academic and social commitments.

A cutting-edge pilot program featuring high-tech thermal food lockers was introduced this week to facilitate this initiative.

With over 600 students dining daily at Goldstein Hall from The Kensington Colleges, Fig Tree Hall, UNSW Hall, and International House, meal times often become hectic.

The implementation of thermal lockers, coupled with the advanced technology provided by Australian startup Foodifox, will now allow students to access hot and freshly prepared meals beyond the conventional lunch and dinner hours, catering to their varying schedules.

Located at the entrance of the main dining hall where students enjoy more than 1000+ meals a day, the locker unit consisting of 17 individually heated cubicles is designed to keep food safe, secure, and perfectly hot.

The pilot – the first of its kind in the Australian education sector – was initiated by corporate caterer Catering Project, to help improve the dining, and overall university experience for students at UNSW.

Lawcadia, has introduced an innovative feature focused on legal rate card compliance, marking its eighth anniversary. The new functionality addresses rising client requests for detailed legal billing information and ensures invoices align with agreed-upon law firm rates.

Lawcadia is an end-to-end legal operations platform for in-house legal teams and law firms. A unique two-sided platform with an intelligent automation engine.

The cloud-based legal operations platform also transforms the way in-house legal teams and law firms collaborate and solve business problems.

Lawcadia’s new feature provides an ability to accept invoices that only relate to approved fee earners and, for complex litigation, automatically split an invoice into multiple phases and workstreams.

According to Lawcadia CEO and Co-founder Warwick Walsh the introduction of the rate card compliance feature would significantly enhance productivity for organisations that wanted methodical invoice review and compliance checks.

“Legal departments are seeking more detailed data relating to spending and resourcing,”

“Lawcadia’s new capability includes the digestion of itemised invoice data to provide specific reporting analytics and deep insights into operations and finances.” he said.

There is no shortage of skincare brands using artificial intelligence (AI) to supercharge their competitiveness and better-engage today’s digitally savvy consumer market. However, Australian brand Ragan Skin has upped the ante by capitalising on the credentials of its founder, Isabella Loneragan, who has customised the re-launched Ragan Skin site’s AI offering in keeping with her earned reputation as one of the industry’s most knowledgeable and trusted skincare experts.

“The new RaganSkin.com isn’t like other sites that offer aesthetics-based AI tools because frankly, I don’t believe the typical offering is good enough,” explains Isabella Loneragan, an award-winning product formulator and internationally recognised skin therapist with almost two decades of experience working in dermatology and cosmeceuticals.

“The global skincare market is in the midst of a spectacular revolution – and I love it – but the reality is that AI cannot replicate the lived-experience and expertise of a human professional,,”

“It’s for this reason that I have made it a key part of my business strategy to be extremely selective in the AI we’ve implemented on RaganSkin.com and moreover, how my customers are guided to fully benefit from the technology,,” adds Isabella.

“I’d never put my name to something I don’t wholeheartedly believe in; and it’s only after dedicating scrupulous attention to the diagnostic quality of our featured AI technology, along with the efficiency of the skincare regimens curated by me and recommended through the technology, that the new RaganSkin.com has come to life,” she said

Officially launched this month (February 2024), the upgraded Ragan Skin website now features AI Skin Diagnostic Technology for real-time, clinic-grade assessments of skin barrier health within three-minutes per user. Thereafter, each user is guided to a personalised skincare regime carefully crafted by Isabella Loneragan.

Incorporating the technology of Haut.AI – a world-class research and development company specialising in next-generation AI for skincare – the AI diagnostic tool featured on RaganSkin.com includes tweaks to its original functionality, as directed by Isabella Loneragan.
