According to TopDesk, a leading service management solution provider a new study reveals that poor processes and menial tasks rob employees of job satisfaction.

Research conducted in the past has shown that poor job satisfaction can decrease productivity by 6.6% to 31%. Despite variations in the degree of impact, it is widely accepted that enhancing job satisfaction can lead to increased productivity, which presents substantial prospects and implications for Australian companies.

TopDesk is an agile and responsive privately-owned software company, committed to providing productive solutions and service management software to businesses throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The study, based on a survey of information technology professionals in Australia, also sheds light on the factors that contribute to higher levels of job satisfaction.

The study also found that those who were very satisfied with their jobs spent less time on menial tasks, such as administrative to-dos and trying to adhere to inefficient processes.

Of those able to identify the amount of time spent on menial tasks each day, a staggering 83% say these consumed an hour or more of their day.

The survey also identified tremendous opportunity for more streamlined processes and improved efficiency, with 86.16% of all respondents reporting their company’s service management needing improvement and 23.58% very dissatisfied with their service management platform.

“Productivity is a key factor in the success of any organisation, and our study highlights the importance of providing employees with the tools they need to be able to focus on what they were hired to do rather than be swamped by inefficiencies and menial low value-add activity,” said Robert van der Gulik, Managing Director of TopDeskdesk Australia.

“Our service management software is designed to streamline IT, facilities, and HR service delivery, helping organisations improve employee satisfaction and in doing so unlock productivity gains.”

TopDesk’s service management software is a powerful tool for organisations looking to improve productivity and streamline their service delivery.
