Barracuda, a cloud-first security company, has announced that CloudGen Access, now available on AWS and Azure marketplaces, has been upgraded with new security features.
Barracuda’s SASE platform now features web safety to protect users from harmful internet content keeping employees safe and strengthening integration with identity providers.
With the increased speed of hybrid and remote working, protecting employees and contractors continues to be a major priority and complication for many businesses.
Barracuda CloudGen Access uses a Zero Trust security approach that doesn’t trust anyone. Employees and systems are not trusted until their permissions and identity are confirmed.
Every user and device must be verified prior to granting access to resources, making it difficult for attackers to infiltrate the network or steal data.
Barracuda’s Zero Trust Network Access and web security service now provides integrated protection for users, applications, devices, and other critical resources against ransomware and other cyberattacks including:
- User and group-based policies and reporting
- Continuous threat intelligence updates
- DNS-based web security policies
- Remote user / work-from-home coverage
- Time and location-based policies and reporting
- Latency elimination via local inspection
According to Barracuda Vice President Sinan Eren, in the aftermath of the pandemic, people sought to enable telecommuting for their employees in order to keep them safe.
“Customers were eager to grant access, but quickly realised that they also needed to protect users’ devices wherever they were, particularly a home network where the company had no control and couldn’t enforce security policies.”
“We accomplish this by pushing web security into CloudGen Access, which follows the endpoint and does not impose additional latency.” says Eren
Barracuda CloudGen Access can now be purchased and deployed on AWS and Azure Marketplaces. It is now possible to do so with an existing AWS or Microsoft billing procedure, in addition to using it on AWS or Azure with a few clicks.
Tim Jefferson, Barracuda SVP, Engineering and Product Management, Data, Network and Application Security says, CloudGen Access is providing secure access to cloud, hybrid, and SaaS applications for remote and office users,
“Zero Trust is becoming a part of many business operations because it helps to ensure continuity, reduce risk, and improve the overall security posture.” said Jefferson.
Accroding to Founder and CEO, Webshare Utku Zihnioglu, without Barracuda CloudGen Access, the company would not be able to provide adequate customer support.
“We would either have to sacrifice speed and responsiveness, or security,” says Utku Zihnioglu
