Australian HR Tech Company, The Martech Raises $8m With Global Investors

Australian HR tech company, The Martec, raises $8m with global investors as its unique AI technology continues to revolutionise the Talent Marketing space. Customers including Sainsburys, Marriott and Siemens, latest funding round will be used to expand globally and to use AI to help brands land key talent amidst workforce shortage.

The Martec, an AI content platform revolutionising the talent marketing space, has today announced an $8m raise to accelerate its global expansion, led by AS1. Other participants in the round included AirTree Ventures.

With a January 2023 full-suite launch, The Martec has already acquired many of the world’s top brands as customers including Sainsbury’s, Marriott, Vodafone, Adobe and Siemens. As well as iconic Australian brands such as Telstra, Optus and Coles.

With organisations facing historic shortages of talent in competitive markets, while often simultaneously messaging on layoffs or hiring freezes, the demand for better talent marketing and communication has never been more important.

The Martec uses AI to engage both external hard-to-hire talent, and employees internally, delivering personalised content at scale throughout each individual’s career journey.

Across regions, languages and cultures this raises the bar for global talent communication to standards usually reserved for customer marketing.

Through its revolutionary technology, The Martec is the world’s only AI platform specialising in enterprise talent marketing. It finds an organisation’s top employee advocates; creates authentic videos and written content with their input; distributes timely content across websites, recruitment teams and social channels; and integrates enterprise-wide to enrich all content from job descriptions to career pages.

Through its unique approach to talent marketing and engagement, The Martec has expanded significantly, with close to 3.5x year-on-year revenue growth.

Raaj Govintharajah, The Martec’s CEO and founder, saw a gap in the market through his experience in building a successful recruitment firm and marketing tech company and knew AI was the key to changing how organisations could be more efficient with their talent marketing.

“Generative AI is hot right now, but the solutions that will win are the ones supporting organisations solving real world problems.” said Raaj Govintharajah, Founder and CEO, The Martec.

“We’re excited to be working with so many iconic brands to show how AI can be used to scale authentic talent communications. We’re using AI as an enabler to bring out the trusted, ‘human’ side of these organisations, directly from their employees,”

“A more powerful angle than traditional, branded content. I see every enterprise organization needing to be a part of this new category we’ve pioneered: AI-powered content for talent marketing. We’re hiring on all fronts ourselves right now.”

“Our teams and offices across USA, UK and Australia are excited for what’s to come as this funding will help us accelerate the uptake of our technology by global enterprise brands.”

“Aside from our market opportunity, I’m personally excited to help organisations with improved authenticity in their talent communications. It has never been more important to democratize employees’ voices – regardless of race, age, location and job type.”

Jackie Vullinghs, Partner, AirTree Ventures said, “Raaj’s deep experience both in marketing and recruitment allowed him to authentically understand customer problems, and see the opportunity to solve those problems in a new way using recent technological advances,”

“The Martec’s impressive traction since the product launch in January is testament to how well their solution resonates with worldwide enterprise customers.”

Conrad Yiu, Partner, AS1, said “After 25 years of co-founding, investing and partnering with high growth companies – it really boils down to great people and talent,”

“We are proud to support Raaj’s vision and his talented management team in the next phase of their journey, which ultimately is about helping enterprises find, attract and retain great people.”
