Commonwealth Bank has announced a significant increase in its intake of technology graduates, with plans to hire 219 new graduates in 2023 representing a substantial 284% growth compared to the number of technology graduates hired by the bank in 2020.
CBA’s technology graduate program aims to develop the technical abilities and fundamental career skills of future technologists, with an emphasis on three primary technology fields: cyber security, data science, and engineering.
Applications for the 2024 program are now being accepted, with the bank continuing to prioritize investments in the graduate experience and its ongoing development.
CBA Executive General Manager of HR for Operations and Technology, Jane Adams, says the graduate program is a key part of CBA’s investment in developing the skills and expertise needed to support the growth of Australia’s digital economy.
To promote technological skills throughout the nation, 38% of the 2023 graduating class will be situated outside of CBA’s Sydney headquarters.
The graduates will be placed in various locations, including Perth, as well as CBA’s recently established tech centers in Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane.
