Feed Burner is an RSS feed control service which offers various management tools and custom feeds for podcasters, bloggers and other online content authors. It was launched in 2004 by Dick Costolo (a former CEO of Twitter) and acquired by Google in 2007. Google states that Feed Burner helps publishers “create and manage their own feed reader app on the go, without the hassle of downloading programs to do so.”

New upgrades are coming to feedburner in 2021

Google states that Feed Burner will create a “new, custom URL for each feed, which will be used by the readers of that feed to view that feed. Feeds are automatically redefined when you set one and are pushed to the reader for viewing. All the subscribers will receive the same URL, so there’s no need to send an email to different subscribers to redirect them to a new page. Redirection information is sent through the Feed Burner interface, so it can be customized per feed. Feed readers can also see the same feed wherever they are in the world and can subscribe from wherever they are too.”

With Feed Burner, you get to enjoy not only being able to read your podcasts and blogs but also be able to share them with all of your subscribers and friends. This not only gives you access to a worldwide audience but makes your podcasting experience more fun and interesting. You can also choose to add an icon to your website or blog that will redirect your readers to a RSS feedburner account where they can subscribe. In case you have the WordPress platform installed on your website, you can get RSS feedburner plug-in installed on your blog that will enable you to have an RSS feedburner link on every single page of your website.

Google stated that Feed Burner has a lot of features for both publishers and subscribers. Readers can use the Feed Burner RSS button to browse your articles and view the latest updates on your articles. Subscribers can even use the RSS feed buttons to subscribe to your blog. Furthermore, readers can go directly to a specific Feed Burner feed when you create an account with them.

Furthermore, Google stated that Feed Burner will help you increase the amount of traffic on your site and get high quality targeted traffic. By offering free email subscriptions as a Feed Burner adds on, subscribers will trust you and will most likely open your email. They will also tell their friends about your content and if they are interested, they will click on the link to your feedburner account where they can subscribe to your feeds. This is because they will know that you have taken great efforts in providing them free newsletters.

Subscribers

Subscribers can easily opt-in to your list in any of the ways mentioned above. If they do not wish to subscribe to your RSS feeds, they can manually un-subscribe in any of the three methods provided in the installation wizard. The installation wizard will also show a confirmation message on every new blog post. If readers find it suspicious, they can click on the unsubscribe link provided on the confirmation page. In this way, subscribers will get your RSS feed every time they visit your site. It’s like building up a loyal base of readers who will eagerly read your new blog post.

Google further explained that their Feed Burner is an easy way for webmasters to build up their own feeds directories for their sites and give subscribers the option to subscribe via email. To make it easier for the webmasters, Google has designed two different ways for users to specify feeds: one to enable users to choose their own defaults from which all the emails sent to them will be broadcasted; and the other to enable readers to subscribe to any of the feeds that are specified by the webmaster. With Feed Burner, webmasters can build up their own customized feeds directories and get their sites added to Google’s indexing services.

Another unique aspect of Feed Burner is the way in which it works with WordPress blogs. This is done by inserting the “oauth” PHP module into your blog’s WordPress setup. Once this is done, you can set up Feed Burner to display a simple html code to link that takes the reader directly to the RSS feed listing for your blog. To make it even better, the Feed Burner plugin automatically inserts a code in your outgoing e-mails that enables your subscribers to subscribe to your RSS feed. In a nutshell, you do not have to worry much about learning HTML code to set up Feed Burner. All you need to do is follow the instructions provided on the Feed Burner website and you should be good to go!

What is an RSS Feed?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a method of distributing updates to web sites in a uniform, computer- readable format. These feeds are used for websites, blogs, forums and even for managing and organizing personal online profiles. For example, a news aggregator can, with the use of a specially designed RSS Feed, allow a blogger to update all of his or her posts in one place so they can be viewed by all of his or her readers at once.

RSS is used so that people can receive updates in their own language and on their own terms. By subscribing to an RSS feed, a reader is given the option of choosing from a list of RSS feeds that he or she chooses to receive updates on. Usually, an RSS reader can be a desktop application or a web browser plug-in. These readers have the ability to perform automatic updates on their topics, so they never miss an RSS feeding.

RSS can help a blog become more effective at attracting new content and keeping readers informed about changes to its topics and the writer’s life and activities. Because of this, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, which can make updating a blog or other web site easier and more convenient. RSS updates provide an easy way for readers to get the information they need, when they need it. RSS feeds offer web sites an opportunity to gain stronger relationships with their clients by making the information they provide more accessible and timely.

The Pros of using Feedburner

There are a lot of great things that you can gain from using feedBurner to build an email marketing campaign. In fact, one of the best pros of using feedburner is that it’s free, which is something a lot of marketers struggle with when it comes to growing their business. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to use Feedburner exclusively in order to get the most out of the service.

One thing that you can really do with feedburner is make it into something it’s not just a simple email subscription widget. Because it’s free, you can take feedburner and turn it into something it isn’t just another widget – for example, you could set the homepage to the word “free” or add a button to the top-right corner that says something like “subscribe to my newsletter”. Not only is this a good way to provide some incentive for your subscribers to unsubscribe if they don’t want to, but it also has the potential to turn feedburner into a fully-featured newsletter reader. Just by rearranging the buttons and adding a bit of color (and maybe changing the background-color if you want a bit more of a dynamic look) you can make feedburner into something that looks almost as good as a real magazine.

Another one of the pros of using feedburner as an email marketing tool is that you can personalize the email message that’s sent out by setting a template. This means that instead of having to create an email message from scratch, which can be a huge hassle, you can simply copy an existing template that you find online, change the layout, and then select the appropriate colors for the body of the email and the links. This way, you won’t have to worry about your emails looking “homemade” and unprofessional – everything will be done automatically, making your job as a marketer much easier. While the pros of using feedburner to build your list may not seem all that important at first, once you start sending out emails and building relationships with your list, the benefits are very noticeable.

The Cons of using Feedburner

You might be asking yourself “Are there any cons of using Feedburner for my blog?” Well, the truth is that there are a few cons so I am going to go over a few of them and you make an educated decision about whether to use Feedburner or not. Whether you want to earn money from your blog, make a living online, or do both, the fact is that there are some cons to using Feedburner.

The first and probably the most obvious of the cons is that you have to manually add an email address to your Feedburner account. This is because Feedburner automatically inserts an email address in the signature file of every post that is sent out from your blog. So, adding an email address to your account is just one of the cons to using feedburner. You need to either use a free email service such as Feedburner or sign up with a paid service such as Aweber.

Another one of the cons is that you have to manually add and remove an email address from your list each time you make changes to the contents of your blog. If you don’t do this, you will spend forever trying to remember who has read your latest post. You might also wish to try other email marketing strategies but the truth is that most people find it very easy to subscribe to an automatic email newsletter such as those offered by Aweber. A free email marketing campaign such as this one might be a bit tiring but the results that you get are worth the effort. Last but not least, if you use Feedburner, you will have to remember to add the link back to your site whenever you write an article and distribute it to all the directories. Although this may not seem like a big con, it can get rather annoying when you do not put the right link back for your site.

How to get your feedburner RSS feed to index

The biggest issue you may face with feedburner is duplicate content. If your feedburner configuration is set to show the full content Google wont index your feed as a precaution to insure duplicate content is not shown. So you will need to set your feed to only show the titles. Then with sime when its recrawled Google will allow it to index.
Maybe people want their feedburner burner to get cralwed in Google search engine in order to increase domain authority. So here is how to get it indexed.

1. First go to the publicze tab.
2. Make Sure “NoIndex” is not enabled
3. Go to socialize tab
4. In the post content drop down box select Title Only.

This will insue while you have noindex turned off you wont have any duplicate content issues.
If you have the display full content option selected Google will choose not to index your feed to avoid duplicate content issues. By removing the content and only allowing the titles Google will crawl and index your feed. And you will get DA 90 + backlink you were searching for!
