Announced this morning, Cisco Australia has claimed the top prize for the fourth year running as the #1 best workplace by Great Place to Work for 2023

As the hybrid world becomes a reality, Cisco is leveraging its innovative technology and conscious culture practices to help employees stay engaged, connected and productive, and effectively collaborate as they work from anywhere.

Cisco ANZ VP, Ben Dawson said, “Our people first strategy focuses on creating a culture of trust and transparency and empowering our employees to unlock their full potential,”

“In the hybrid world that we all now operate in, enabling our people to work flexibly, underpinned by the right technology, remains a priority for us.”

According to this year’s survey findings, an overwhelming 94% of employees expressed their commitment to considering all aspects at Cisco Australia, making it an excellent workplace.

The survey results stand as a testament to Cisco’s dedication to cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment that empowers every employee to bring their best selves to work.

Cisco Australia & New Zealand vice president, Ben Dawson, said, “At Cisco, we firmly believe that people are our biggest strength. Our people first strategy focuses on creating a culture of trust and transparency and empowering our employees to unlock their full potential,”

”In the hybrid world that we all now operate in, enabling our people to work flexibly, underpinned by the right technology, remains a priority for us.”

“Cisco supports our employees in their efforts to give back and create a positive impact in the wider community, as part of our mission to create an inclusive future for all. It is a key part of our culture and one that our employees greatly value.

“The recognition by Great Place to Work is a huge moment of pride for the entire Cisco Australia team,” he added,”

Cisco has directed its efforts towards establishing a workplace guided by a mindful culture – an inclusive and diverse setting where all individuals are embraced. This entails upholding principles of dignity, respect, equity, and fairness during interactions.

Moreover, employees are granted a dedicated 10 days of volunteering leave, known as Time2Give, to contribute to their communities.

The company also offers avenues for employees to actively engage with internal inclusive communities that resonate with their passions, such as Pride, Women of Cisco, Cisco’s Disability Awareness Network, and more.

The positive impact of this environment is evident as highlighted by the Great Place to Work survey. An impressive 97% of employees take pride in declaring their affiliation with Cisco.

Julie Netkow, Head of People and Communities, Cisco Australia & New Zealand said, “At Cisco, recognising individuality and inclusivity goes hand in hand,”

“Our people bring their whole self to work because they know they will be respected, heard, and celebrated for being themselves,” said Netkow

“As companies across the world think about the future of work in a hybrid world, Cisco’s people-centric approach coupled with our conscious culture is ensuring that we continue to remain a great workplace and a magnet for talented people,” she said.

Cassandra Crothers, Director, Virtual Sales, Cisco Australia & New Zealand said, “The reason that I have been at Cisco for over 16 years is not only because Cisco is a market leader in our industry and we provide great solutions for our customers, but because of the people and the culture that we have all created and are responsible for.”

“Everyone is included, encouraged to be their authentic selves and driven by purpose – allowing us to constantly innovate in a supportive environment. The brilliant people at Cisco make coming to work a pleasure, and you always feel that you are part of something incredible.”

“Our leaders are incredibly supportive and live our values and set the tone for the whole organisation. I’m so proud that I get to be a part of Cisco and contribute to this amazing culture”

Roland Wee, board member of Great Place to Work Australia said, “Great Place to Work is thrilled to once again recognise Cisco as #1 in the Large Category on the 2023 Australia Best Workplaces List. Cisco is no one-time wonder and have held on to the #1 position for the last four years.”

“This win is testament that their commitment to putting their people first, and creating a high-trust high performing environment stays true in good times and in tough times,”

We congratulate the leadership and HR team, as well as all their line leaders for creating the most exceptional workplace experience for their people.” said Wee.

90% of employees acknowledge that the company’s management genuinely expresses interest in them as individuals, extending beyond their roles as employees.
