NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP), a global, cloud-leader and, data-centric software company, today announced the appointment of IT industry veteran and senior business executive Andrew Sotiropoulos as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific & Japan (APAC).
Andrew Sotiropoulos, who is based in Singapore, with over 30 years in the technology industry steps into his new role from his previous position as VP of Asia Pacific and Japan at Pure Storage will oversee NetApp’s operations & expansion initiatives in the region.

Sotiropoulos takes over from Sanjay Rohatgi, who will be departing the company to pursue opportunities outside of the company, after nearly four years of leading NetApp’s sales teams in Asia Pacific.
Reporting to NetApp President Cesar Cernuda, he will prioritise the growth of NetApp’s enterprise storage and cloud business, the enhancement of its partner network, and the strengthening of its leadership position in local markets.
With over three decades of experience in the technology industry, Andrew has led cross-regional teams to boost business growth and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Prior to joining NetApp, he served as the VP of Asia Pacific and Japan at Pure Storage and also held leadership roles at IBM and Lenovo.
During his time at IBM, he headed the Global Technology Services division in the Asia Pacific region. Andrew brings a wealth of experience leading organisations across both product and technology services segments on a global scale, with a focus on Asia Pacific.

NetApp®2023 Cloud Complexity Report
In March NetApp® released it’s 2023 Cloud Complexity Report, a global survey exploring how technology decision makers are navigating cloud requirements coming from digital transformation and AI initiatives and the complexity of multicloud environments.
According to the report, nearly all (98%) of the top IT executives have experienced some form of impact from the rising complexity of cloud, which can result in suboptimal IT performance, reduced revenue, and hindered business expansion.
