Vodafone, Nokia voice core services extended to an additional one million subscribers in New Zealand.

According to Nokia the extention will give better voice services for New Zealander as well as tourists travelling in the country It will also supply its NetAct application for network management and daily network operations to improve it’s voice services.

This is the next step of the collaboration between Nokia and Vodafone, which is focused on making Vodafone’s voice core infrastructure more reliable and resilient.

Additionally, the program is meant to guarantee that the network is always operating with the most up-to-date software.

Voice over LTE (VoLTE) roaming will be implemented, which is essential as some carriers are closing down their original 2G and 3G networks in order to reduce costs and to repurpose the spectrum for 5G.

Vodafone New Zealand head of networks Sharina Nisha says the project is another great step forward Vodafone’s 30-year partnership with Nokia,

“It delivers a more awesome Aotearoa through innovation for both local customers and our very welcome visitors to New Zealand,” she said.
