Creative entrepreneur and Founder of Almost Real, Michelle Owen has launched Snaaps, a 35mm film camera designed to capture life’s most authentic moments and memories.
With a career spanning various realms of artistic expression, Ms Owen’s newest venture Snaaps brings back the nostalgic charm of film, offering a user-friendly experience with reloadable film, and boasting a playful design and easy-to-use features.
The 2024 Adobe Creative Trends Report revealed 50 percent of Gen Z in the US, UK, Canada and Australia are wanting to disconnect from their phones and as a result they are turning to cost-friendly relics and hobbies of the past that make them feel more connected and less detached from the real world.
A recent review by Samsung also revealed that photography was voted the number one hobby by Gen Z (29%) since 2022.
“I’m excited to introduce Snaaps to the world, making art and photography accessible to all and encouraging us to step away from our phones and discover the beauty in everyday,”
“Snaaps is ideal for beginners, lovers of film and is the perfect companion for any event or holiday. With Snaaps, art isn’t just something you admire, it’s something you create wherever your journey may take you. It’s also just a bit of fun for everyone,” says Ms Owen.
Snaaps joins Ms Owen’s brand, Almost Real, a platform for fine art photography and visual arts crafted by a global collective of artists and creatives, guided by Ms Owen’s creative vision.
“Almost Real serves as a dynamic platform for both emerging and established artists to share their works and explore their unique visions without constraints,”
“We’ve created a sanctuary where artists can push boundaries, challenge norms, and inspire others to view the world through a new lens. Snaaps also embodies this ethos; it’s more than just a camera, it’s a gateway to artistic expression,” shared Ms Owen.
