WhistleOut, Australia’s dedicated phone and internet comparison service, recently announced the winners of the 2024 WhistleOut Awards.
The WhistleOut Award categories for phone and internet plans are judged by awarding 3, 2 and 1 points to the providers of the three best plans in each category on a monthly basis, (July 2023 – June 2024).
The award winners are the providers with the highest number of points at the end of the 12 month period. In case of a tie, winners are chosen based on the number of 1st positions, then 2nd positions, then 3rd positions they achieved in that category over the course of the year.
Echoing last year’s awards in 2023, the biggest winners were again TPG and Tangerine, taking out the Mobile and Internet Provider of the Year Awards respectively.
Google also took home Phone of the Year for the second year running for the Google Pixel 8a, while Motorola won the Manufacturer of the Year award.
As with last year there were again a number of repeat award winners, with a select few providers having now won individual categories three or more years in a row.
“It’s no secret that cost of living pressures have continued to restrict people’s budgets and it’s clear from our visitor feedback that pricing is their key decision-making component. Value for money is the top priority in a telco product right now,” said WhistleOut Managing Editor, Alex Choros.
“The WhistleOut Awards highlight the best phone plans, internet plans and devices from the last 12 months, with cost being a major judging criteria.
“To win a WhistleOut Award telco providers have to consistently offer competitive plans and great value devices that won’t break the bank. Anyone that wants a better telco package will find something of interest from our winners.”
This year saw the introduction of the Best 5G Home Wireless Broadband category in response to its widespread availability and performance competitiveness with NBN services.
