Tom Richardson joins Great Southern Bank as its new Chief Information Officer today and will focus delivering further customer benefits as part of the bank’s three-year investment program.
The new role builds on his 30 years of experience in IT-related finance in the UK and Australia, including
senior IT management roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and, most recently, as Chief
Technology Officer at Colonial First State.
“We’re pleased to have someone with Tom’s experience join us at Great Southern Bank,” said Paul
Lewis, CEO and Managing Director of Great Southern Bank.
“We’ve seen great early results from our IT investments over the last couple of years, including our cloud
migration work and our new home loan system Lendfast. Tom, with his mix of IT understanding,
relationship building skills and long experience with digital transformation projects, is perfectly placed to
make sure our customers get the maximum benefit from that investment.”
“I’m pleased to join an organisation that has a willingness to work at speed and nimbleness that you just
don’t get in bigger organisations,” says Tom Richardson.
“The opportunities around data are where the interesting work is. It’s about generating value out of what
we’ve done, then using data to deliver further value for customers. We’ll also be looking for the right
opportunities to work with fintech organisations that can add value to Great Southern Bank.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the team.”
Tom Richardson joins Great Southern Bank as new CIO to drive customer value.
