Siemens expands its partnership with NVIDIA enabling the industrial metaverse and increased use of AI-driven digital twin technology.
The companies will connect Siemens Xcelerator and NVIDIA Omverse (tm), as the first step in the collaboration. The platform for 3D collaboration and design allows companies to make faster decisions and have greater confidence with real-time AI from NVIDIA and physics-based digital models by Siemens.
NVIDIA AI is used by over 25,000 companies around the globe and is the most widely-used AI platform. It also powers the Intelligence Engine of Omniverse in cloud and autonomous systems at edge. NVIDIA Omniverse is an ideal computing engine to represent the complete digital twin of Siemens Xcelerator.
Omniverse will be added to the open Siemens Xcelerator partnership ecosystem increasing the adoption of digital twins that can improve productivity and efficiency across product and production lifecycles.
Companies of all varying sizes will have the ability to use digital twins that provide real-time performance data, create innovative industrial IoT strategies, and leverage actionable analytics at the edge and in the cloud. This will allow them to tackle engineering challenges of the future by creating immersive simulations that are visually rich. .
Roland Busch, President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens AG says photorealistic, physics-based digital twins embedded in the industrial metaverse offer enormous potential to transform our economies and industries by providing a virtual world where people can interact and collaborate to solve real-world problems.
“For over a decade, our digital twin technology has been helping customers across all industries to boost their productivity and today offer the industry’s most comprehensive digital twin.“
“When Siemens Xcelerator is connected to Omniverse, we will enable a real-time, immersive metaverse that connects hardware and software, from the edge to the cloud with rich data from Siemens’ software and solutions.” said Busch
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO, NVIDIA says Siemens and NVIDIA share a common vision that the industrial metaverse will drive digital transformation. This is just the first step in our joint effort to make this vision real for our customers and all parts of the global manufacturing industry
“The connection to Siemens Xcelerator will open NVIDIA’s Omniverse and AI ecosystem to a whole new world of industrial automation that is built using Siemens’ mechanical, electrical, software, IoT and edge solutions.” said Huang
The partnership brings together ecosystems and technologies that complement each other to create the industrial metaverse.
Siemens is unique in its ability to connect digital and real worlds, information technology and operational technologies. Xcelerator connects the mechanical, electrical, and software domains throughout the product and production process and enables convergence of IT & OT.
