When we think about New Year’s resolutions, physical activity is one of the first things that come to mind.
Apple Fitness+ added new features that can help you kickstart 2024. In the words of Jay Blahnik, the VP of Apple’s Fitness Technologies, “Starting the new year can mean kicking off a fitness and wellbeing journey, restarting after a long break, or looking to take it up a level with a new challenge.”
Starting from January 8, Apple Fitness+ subscribers will have access to strength and stability workout regimes tailor-made for golfers. Rose Zhang is one of the program designers.
“Whether people are new to the sport or want to advance their skills, I’m excited that the workouts in this program on Fitness+ will help users feel more confident in their swing and have fun on the course,” said the golfer. And while the training routine is meant for golfers, it’s still great even if you have no plans to play the sport but want to get in shape.
Meditation upgrades are on the list as well. In addition to its current 10 meditation theme lineup, Fitness+ introduces a new theme they call Sound.
Up next, we have The Artist Spotlight Series. If you don’t have time to create music playlists for workouts, leave it to Fitness+.
The service already has a Rihanna playlist, which was released on January 8, together with an update.
Starting January 15, there will be a workout music playlist by Britney Spears. The artists for January 22 and February 5 are U2 and USHER, respectively.
Last on the notable feature list is the award-winning podcast Time to Walk. If you enjoy hearing from interesting people and find them excellent motivators to help you on your fitness journey, you should appreciate Time to Walk.
Apple Fitness+ Pricing
If you are on the fence about subscribing to Apple Fitness+, consider how much you get for just $10 a month. Or, if you want to save, the service also offers an annual plan, which costs $80.
And it doesn’t end there. The same account allows up to five users to share Fitness+ with friends or family. And once you subscribe, you can access more than 5000 workout classes.
Apple Fitness+ Supported Devices
Uncertain whether your device supports Apple Fitness+? Check the official supported device list on Apple’s website.
Also, note that if you plan to use the service on a MacBook via streaming, make sure to have the latest macOS version on your device.
You will need a smart TV compatible with AirPlay to monitor heart rate and other metrics. You can then collect the data (metrics) and store it on your MacBook. In case you delete the copied data accidentally, there’s the redo shortcut to restore it.
