We haven’t heard much about the GoPro Hero 10 Black before its expected launch – but the only clue was so comprehensive that it told us pretty much everything we needed to know. Now a new leak adds an important detail that was missing: the price.

According to WinFuture, the GoPro Hero 10 Black will go on sale for 540 euros. A direct currency conversion brings us $ 640 / £ 460 / AU $ 865, but GoPro doesn’t use direct currency conversion – it might be more helpful to say that the Hero 9 Black originally retailed for almost € 480, so it sounds like an annual model more expensive.

You can get the current GoPro Hero 9 Black for $450 / £430 / AU $670, so expect those prices to go up when the GoPro Hero 10 Black is officially unveiled – something that should happen in the coming weeks.

The latest WinFuture article also reveals more about the features brought by the GoPro Hero 10 Black, powered by a new chipset called GP2. It is apparently twice as powerful as that of the Hero 9 Black

This will result in better low-light videos as well as improved image stabilization, according to WinFuture sources. There’s also a new lens cap with a hydrophobic (water-repellent) coating that also minimizes reflections, which should further improve the quality of photos and videos you can capture with your camera.

As for the front screen, WinFuture says it will run at a faster refresh rate than Hero 9 Black, for a more fluid viewing experience. Plus, get touch controls and a shutter-release button that operate faster

It doesn’t look like the GoPro Hero 10 will add a huge number of improvements over the current model – and the design will remain more or less identical – but rumored updates make us think this will be an action camera worth looking into.

It seems likely that the GoPro Hero 10 Black will offer a maximum video resolution of 5.3K, with faster frame rates available at lower resolutions – the 2.7K resolution would support up to 240 fps, which is perfect for those slow motion clips.

Meanwhile, while the GP2 chip won’t necessarily do anything revolutionary, it should improve the quality of videos and photos captured by the GoPro Hero 10 Black across the board – everything will still work, but at a faster speed.

With the rumor that GoPro is focusing on low-light smoothing and video stabilization technologies in GoPro 10 Hero Black marketing materials, it looks like it will be a top-notch action camera – perfect for those on a budget.
